Vehicle Licensing

License Your Vehicle

ZINARA manages the licensing of all classes of motor vehicles in Zimbabwe. Vehicle licensing contributes directly to road maintenance and infrastructure development.

Licensing Process

01
Gather Documents

Prepare your vehicle registration book, proof of insurance, and fitness certificate.

02
Vehicle Inspection

Ensure your vehicle passes the required roadworthiness inspection at a VID centre.

03
Pay Licensing Fee

Visit a ZINARA office or approved agent and pay the applicable licensing fee for your vehicle class.

04
Receive Licence Disc

Collect your vehicle licence disc and display it on your windscreen as required by law.

Class 1 – Motorcycles (up to 200cc) 12 Months USD 20.00
Class 2 – Motorcycles (over 200cc) 12 Months USD 30.00
Class 3 – Private Motor Vehicles (up to 1500kg) 12 Months USD 60.00
Class 4 – Private Motor Vehicles (1500kg – 3500kg) 12 Months USD 75.00
Class 5 – Light Commercial Vehicles 12 Months USD 90.00
Class 6 – Buses (up to 25 seats) 12 Months USD 150.00
Class 7 – Buses (over 25 seats) 12 Months USD 200.00
Class 8 – Heavy Motor Vehicles / Trucks 12 Months USD 250.00
Class 9 – Semi-trailers / Combinations 12 Months USD 350.00

Visit any ZINARA office or approved licensing agent countrywide. Locations are available in all major towns and cities across Zimbabwe.

Payment Methods

ZINARA accepts payment in USD cash, RTGS, EcoCash, InnBucks, and other approved mobile money platforms at all service points.

Penalties for Non-Compliance

Failure to licence your vehicle is a criminal offence. Vehicles without a valid licence disc are liable to fines and impoundment by law enforcement authorities.
